At Faux Arts Studio we have a full range of Adult courses including:
Drawing with Confidence – This course is designed to give anyone who has lost their confidence with drawing, or who just wants to learn new ways of creating and finishing drawings.
All Commers Art course – This course is for anyone who wants to expand the work they are doing, try new media and new ideas in a supportive and inspirational environment. Sue has experience in a wide range of media and the course is tailored to meet the needs of the individual students who come.
Life-Drawing – Life drawing courses are run regularly at faux arts in short blocks of four two hour sessions. These are taught courses with a live model, ideal courses for anyone who would like to return to or start life-drawing in a relaxed and supportive group
Fine Art Painting – Painting can be a difficult thing to embark on, at faux arts we teach painting in an interesting and understandable way. This course will cover colour mixing, restricted palettes, composition, flow of the eye, brushwork.
Ceramics and Ceramic Sculpture – This course is designed to introduce people to a range of different techniques and materials to create hand-built ceramics and sculptures. Students work on their own projects, and the course is designed to fit around the needs and desires of the students on the course.
Digital photography – The digital photography is taught by Adam Dale and experienced professional photographer. The course covers technique using SLR Digital Cameras which you will need to bring, any make is fine, and Adam will show you how to get the best out of your images using projects in focal length, exposure etc. This course is run on demand, wo if you are interested then contact us and once we have enough to run this course we will set it up.
Painting Days – We also offer out and about painting days in the wilds of Wiltshire. Days this year have included Art on the Barge, Art In the Woods and Art on the Hill. These one off painting days repeat throughout the year giving you the chance to experience painting directly from nature whilst being able to retreat to the warmth of the Cabin that we have as a backdrop to all these courses.
All our courses are taught by invited artists and tutors or our own resident artist Sue Faux, who has considerable experience of working and teaching a wide range of media and techniques in our supportive and friendly studio.
Towards Christmas we also provide adult only ceramic painting and craft evening and day sessions, a chance to make all those presents and cards whilst having a social and enjoyable time with your friends and other makers and painters.
